If you are looking for an education advocate, I highly recommend contacting Jackie Spinelli from Empowered Families. She is amazing to work with! As a former special education teacher, she is extremely knowledgeable of the IEP process and is educated on all levels. She knew what questions to ask, made suggestions and helped my son get back the services that were needed. We were not new to the IEP process, this was a reevaluation for my son, but this was the first time we worked with an advocate and I wish I had known about Jackie sooner. Don’t hesitate to contact her. Make sure you know all of your rights as parents, make sure your child gets a fair evaluation and plan. Jackie can help in so many ways!
