Meet Jackie Spinelli

Founder of EmpowerEd Families and passionate advocate for students and their families.

Advocacy That Feels Human — Because It Is

I started EmpowerEd Families to be the advocate I wish every family had — someone who listens, explains, supports, and partners with you through every step of the special education process.

With a background in teaching, a Master’s in Educational Psychology, and certifications in Special Education and Positive Behavior Supports, I bring both professional insight and heart to every case.

But more than credentials, this work is personal. I believe every child deserves to be seen, supported, and celebrated. I’m here to help make that happen.

A Teacher-Turned-Advocate Who Gets It

Before founding EmpowerEd Families, I was a classroom teacher and special educator. I’ve sat at IEP tables as both an educator and an advocate. I know how overwhelming, confusing, and emotional this process can be — and how powerful it becomes when families feel heard and informed. My approach is collaborative and calm, focused on helping the whole IEP team work together with clarity, compassion, and strategy.

Who I Work With

I support families of students with:
- Autism
- ADHD

- Developmental Delays
- Specific Learning Disabilities (such as dyslexia)
- Emotional or behavioral needs
- Executive functioning challenges
- And students who need 504 plans or school-based support but don’t yet qualify for an IEP

Whether your child is just beginning an evaluation or you’ve been navigating this system for years, I’m here to help you feel confident and supported.

Let's Get Started- Together

If you’re wondering where to begin or how to make sure your child is getting the support they need, let’s talk. You don’t have to figure this out alone.
